My Journey Writing "The G.O.D. Machine"
Writing a novel is more than just telling a story—it’s about finding the right voice. And for me, that meant abandoning my German mother tongue and embracing English to truly capture the emotional depth of The G.O.D. Machine.
The Struggle of Language
When I first started writing, I chose my native language, expecting it to flow naturally. But something was off. The words felt cold, distant—like they couldn’t carry the intensity of the story I wanted to tell. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t bridge the gap between my thoughts and the page.
Then came the breakthrough: I switched to English.
Suddenly, the emotional turmoil, the tension, the rawness—everything clicked. The language gave me a new freedom, a fresh way to articulate ideas that had felt trapped before.
Five Years of Rewriting, One Moment of Letting Go
The process wasn’t easy. Five years of drafting, revising, and refining—until finally, I knew: It’s time to release it into the world.
Publishing a book is surreal. You pour your soul into it, then you let go, not knowing how it will be received. But the response has been incredible—readers from around the world connecting with the story, engaging with its themes, and sharing their thoughts.
The Unexpected Twist: Translating It Back
After the English version was out, curiosity struck: How would this story sound in my mother tongue now?
So I began translating the first few pages. And to my surprise—it worked. The emotions, the rhythm, the essence of the story—they all carried over. What once felt impossible had become possible.
Now, I’m finishing the German version of The G.O.D. Machine, set to release this June. It’s a full-circle moment—one that brings me back to the thrill of seeing my creation on shelves for the first time.

The Real Reward: Purpose and Fulfillment
This journey has been about more than just publishing a book—it’s been a lesson in creating meaning.
Too often, we wait for the "right moment" or the "perfect conditions" to pursue our passions. But life doesn’t hand us purpose—we have to build it ourselves. Writing this novel was a lifelong dream, and now that it’s real, I’m reminded:
Happiness comes from committing to something bigger than yourself and seeing it through—no matter how many drafts, languages, or years it takes.
